Lilian is a wonderful and kind soul, who is great at what she does! She cares about her clients and spends a lot of time making sure that they are happy with their experience. She is patient, understanding, but still helps you go through your belongings and pare down what you don’t need in an effective way. She has a calming effect and made every session a joy (despite the fact that cleaning/organizing really intimidates me). I have an ongoing to-do list that seems to grow faster than the rate at which I can check things off. One task that was left incomplete was to organize and clean my pantry, which I hadn’t organized once in FIVE YEARS.

I kept putting it off and dreading the amount of effort because I assumed it would take days and constant trips to the compost, trash, and recycling bins to toss expired and unnecessary items from the pantry. I had a lot of anxiety around it.

However, that mindset was before I recruited Lilian and her amazing organizational skills. She made the process so simple, breaking down the task into smaller steps, and helped me get over my anxiety around the task at hand. And not only did she help organize my pantry, she even made recommendations for how to group items so that I can prevent a messy pantry going forward.

Afterward, I felt like such a weight had been lifted as I was finally able to check that item off my to-do list! I will definitely be leveraging her skills and expertise for my future organizational needs and highly recommend her to my friends and family, so they can benefit, too. :)

Before my sessions with Lilian, a large section of my basement had boxes that had not been opened since the day we moved in (two years ago!). It felt cluttered and disorganized. Plus, it was impossible to find anything that I needed, nor could I remember what was down there! With Lilian’s help, we went through each item, and within a short amount of time, we turned what was a mountain of boxes into two boxes of items to keep. She kept me on track and focused and was patient when I had to make some emotional decisions. Lilian was able to turn what seemed like an overwhelming activity into something actually fun! Now, our space is a fully functioning storage area for our camping gear. It’s so beautiful that I sometimes go downstairs just to look at it!

I have many challenges related to organization in my life, but I decided to consult Peony Professional Organizing for digital organizing of my personal computer files. I was able to snag Ms. Lilian Chiu; owner of Peony Professional Organizing to not only provide me expert tips on how to become more organized digitally (let’s face it; my download folder was a disaster and taking up too much space) but also to do some hands-on digital organizing while sharing my screen. I had a very positive experience with her and some of the highlights are below:

1. Great prep before my session even started. Lilian asked me a few questions before our session that really helped me focus on my digital organizing priorities, so that the time we spent together was gold and we actually accomplished things! Also, I could tell that Lilian had thoroughly reviewed my answers to the questions (I am glad I filled them out!) and done additional research in advance of our session; she was proactive and prepared.

2. No judgment! I’ll admit that I was a little nervous going into my digital organizing session about feeling some judgment from my point of contact because my file system was a mess, but Lilian was completely reassuring and professional the whole time and never made me feel bad about my poor file management. Lilian just kept offering great solutions and tips to help me succeed with my digital organizing in the future which boosted my confidence that I CAN become more digitally organized!

3. I now have my own digital management plan. I came away with a great but also simple ‘digital management plan’ for how to manage all of my future personal files, including great ideas on file naming, general folder management, and thoughts on when & how to delete files I may no longer need.

4. Great follow-up that inspired me! Not only did Lilian give me great tips during our session that were tailored to my needs (keeping it simple because I am lazy with digital organizing!), but she also followed up with a personal e-mail with a summary of our session that helped me remember what we discussed. Lilian’s great tips and calming presence during our session inspired me. I really do feel like I have a lot more energy to keep on improving and maintaining my digital organization.
